About Us

Post image for About Us

The Gyanada Foundation is an education non-profit founded in 2013. We work to create better opportunities for Indian girls from disadvantaged backgrounds. We believe that better educational outcomes lead to better lives.

The Gyanada scholarship we have offered since 2013 provides hundreds of girls across India with a bond-free scholarship to attend low-cost private schools in their communities. This year, we will also offer English and computer skills training to our students through the Gyanada All-Stars program.

Since our founding, we’ve worked carefully with a small number of well-established education non-profits who work as our field partners in five states.

We are a registered trust in India and a company limited by guarantee in Singapore (the standard non-profit structure in Singapore), and our team is headquartered in Mumbai, India. If you have any feedback or would like to contact us, we would love to hear from you.

The Gyanada Difference

We are Inclusive. Gyanada is another name for the goddess of knowledge. However, we are a inclusive organization which aims to provide equal opportunity to all female students who need it.

We believe in Continuity. Every girl who enters the Gyanada Foundation’s scholarship program has the chance to complete as much school as she can attain. We encourage our students to aspire towards higher education with at least the completion of formal education through to Standard XII.

We believe it’s more than just academics. We believe in the development of the Indian girl beyond mere academics. Our programs are designed to provide opportunities to them in a holistic manner. With Gyanada Labs, we can increase our impact by providing the tools for digital literacy and online safety.

Our work would not be possible without our field partners in each location, and our team of volunteers and staff in various cities and countries (who are we?).
